Handknotted Carpet - unfolded

OUR CRAFT

Made by hand.

In Bhadohi.

Every stage managed in Bhadohi, under direct oversight, from the first dye batch to the final finish.

Dyeing

"Every colour you see in a Vezari rug was matched to a specification, not chosen from a shelf."

Every rug begins with a brief. If you have something in mind, this is where it starts.

Colour starts with the yarn. Each batch is hand-dyed to a specified palette. Dye lots are controlled and documented so that repeat orders match what came before.

Colour and size issues are documented. Third-party inspection welcomed at any stage.

Handweaving

Rugs are woven by artisans from start to finish handloom, hand-knotted, or hand-tufted depending on construction type. Each technique produces a different character of fabric, a different texture underfoot, a different lifespan. We will guide you toward the right construction for your brief.

Washing

After weaving, every rug is washed, a step that unlocks the full softness of the wool, settles the dye, and brings the texture to life. It's the stage most buyers never see. It's also the stage that separates a rug that feels right from one that merely looks right.

"The washing process is where a rug stops feeling made and starts feeling lived-in. It's the step that changes everything."

Finishing

Clipping, stretching, backing, and a final inspection before packing. Where necessary, embossing or carving adds depth to the pile creating the light and shadow that make a rug feel three-dimensional. Nothing leaves without passing through every stage of quality control.

"Nothing leaves our workshop without passing through every stage of quality checks. Not one shortcut. Not one exception."

Washing is where colour, depth and final softness are determined

OUR PEOPLE

The craft belongs to them as much as they belong to it.

The artisans in Bhadohi who make Vezari rugs didn't learn this craft from a course. They learned it the way their parents did, and their parents before them, by watching, by doing, and by spending years understanding what their hands were capable of.

Three generations of our own family have been part of this same tradition. It's just the truth of how craft knowledge actually survives.

Every rug we make carries that lineage quietly. You won't see it in the pattern. You'll feel it in how the piece holds together over years of use.
